APKJell started because most of the best app lists online are written by people who never actually opened the apps they’re recommending.
I got tired of installing something based on a top-10 article, only to find it crashed within a day or didn’t do half of what the article claimed.
So I started testing apps myself, on my own phones, and writing down what I found; that’s the entire origin of this site.
Who I Am
I’m Tanveer Abbas, and I run APKJell.com out of District Sargodha, Pakistan.
My background is in technology, and outside of that work, I spend an unreasonable amount of time trying out Android apps and mobile games just to see which ones hold up under everyday use.
Every review on this site is based on apps I’ve personally installed and used, not press releases, not other blogs’ summaries rewritten in different words.
When an article says an app was tested for two weeks across three phones, that’s because it was.

APKJell focuses specifically on:

- Practical guides and comparisons: the kind of which app is actually better breakdowns I wished existed when I was searching for answers myself.
- Pakistan-relevant context: device availability, pricing, and network conditions here often differ from what US- or UK-focused tech blogs assume, and I try to account for that.
- Straightforward tips: small fixes and settings that genuinely improve how your phone runs, without unnecessary padding.
How I Test
Most reviews on this site are run across at least two or three different Android phones, ranging from flagship to budget hardware, because an app that runs smoothly on a Galaxy S22 Ultra doesn’t always behave the same way on a lower-spec device.
I track things like battery drain, crash frequency, ad load, and whether a feature actually works as advertised, not just whether the app installs and opens.
If an app doesn’t hold up, that gets said plainly. APKJell doesn’t promote apps that request excessive permissions, contain malware, or link to pirated or modded content. Reviews here stick to legitimate apps available through official stores.
Why APKJell
This site earns a little revenue through display ads, which is what keeps it running and lets me keep buying test devices and app subscriptions instead of relying on guesswork.
That said, ad placement never decides which app gets a good review; the testing does.
